You’ll walk away with specific recommendations and practical next steps you can put to work immediately, whether that means improving your pricing strategy, strengthening your proposal, solving a difficult client issue, or creating a more profitable way to run your business.

Common Questions

What is The Boardroom for Creatives?

The Boardroom is a curated platform connecting creative business owners—like interior designers and window treatment pros—with trusted, vetted business experts.

It’s not a course. It’s not a coaching program. It’s a strategic, one-on-one session with someone who knows their stuff—and knows your world.

Whether you’re stuck on pricing, overwhelmed by hiring, or unsure how to restructure your services, The Boardroom gives you access to real expertise, one smart session at a time.

Who is this for?

The Boardroom is designed for:
• Interior designers
• Window treatment professionals
• Stagers, stylists, and service-based creatives
• Entrepreneurs in need of clarity, not more noise.

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I could just ask someone who’s done this before,” this is for you.

Is this a discovery call or a full strategy session?

This is a full strategy session.

You should come prepared with a specific question, problem, or decision. Your board member will bring the tools, frameworks, and insight to help you move forward.

Is The Boardroom connected to LuAnn University?

Yes—and no.

Many Boardroom experts also teach at LuAnn University, but this platform is focused on real-time strategy, not multi-week courses.

You can use The Boardroom to:
• Follow up on a concept you learned in class
• Get clarity before committing to a program
• Deepen your learning with 1:1 guidance

How is this different from hiring a coach directly?

Two key differences:

1. No long-term commitment — You’re not signing up for a multi-month program or committing to a four- or five-figure coaching package. You’re booking a smart, focused hour of expert insight.

2. No guesswork — Every board member is vetted by LuAnn. This isn’t a referral roulette or open marketplace. You’re getting access to professionals who are known, trusted, and results-driven.

How do I get the most out of my session?

Know your question. Come in with one specific challenge, decision, or goal. The clearer you are, the more focused the session can be.

Upload key info in advance. If your board member needs context—like numbers, plans, proposals—send them before your session.

Be open, not defensive. You came here for perspective—so lean into it.

Take notes. Don’t try to memorize. Document your takeaways so you can implement them immediately.

Follow up—but don’t expect free coaching. Some board members may offer a quick recap. Others may invite you into a deeper engagement. Either way, the session ends at the agreed time.

What kinds of board members are available?

Every board member has been hand-picked and personally vetted by LuAnn Nigara.

You’ll find specialists in:
Sales
Marketing
Leadership
Finance
Operations

Some are full-time business coaches with long-term programs. Others are service providers, consultants, or instructors from LuAnn University.

All of them are proven experts in their zone of genius.

How does booking work?

1. Browse board member profiles based on your current business needs.
2. Select the board member who best fits your challenge.
3. Choose from available time slots and book a session.
4. Upload any relevant background info, documents, or questions.
5. Meet for your strategy session via Zoom or the board member’s preferred platform.

You’ll leave with actionable advice, strategic clarity, and a new level of confidence.

How long are sessions?

Each board member sets their own format, but most sessions are 50 minutes.
The session length and cost are clearly stated on the expert’s profile.

Can I book the same board member more than once?

Yes—with some exceptions.

Some experts offer high-level coaching programs that span multiple months. To protect the integrity of those offers, clients may be limited to 1–2 sessions with them through The Boardroom.

This isn’t meant to be a workaround for full coaching programs. If you’re interested in deeper engagement, your board member will guide you on next steps after your session.

Other board members—like consultants, faculty members, or service providers—may allow repeat bookings if their availability permits.

How much prep is expected from me?

You’ll get the most out of your session if you come in focused and prepared.’
Each board member will outline what (if anything) they need from you ahead of time—such as a project brief, pricing spreadsheet, team org chart, or existing sales page.

When you book your session, you’ll have the opportunity to upload supporting documents. If you do, your board member will review them in advance. If you don’t, they’ll begin where you begin—so please arrive ready to dive in.

These sessions are booked for a fixed time (typically 45 minutes), and your board member will begin and end on schedule. Preparation = impact.

Can I book multiple board members?

Absolutely.

Many users book multiple sessions over time, depending on where their business needs support. For example:
• Pricing strategy with one board member
• Website review with another
• Hiring roadmap with a third

Each session is a focused, strategic conversation designed to meet you where you are.

What if I don’t know who to book?

That’s okay—many creatives start here.
You can use the dropdowns on the Find a Board Member page to browse by track (sales, marketing, leadership, etc.) and by speciality (social media management, pricing strategy, etc.)

How much do sessions cost?

Rates vary by board member and are listed on their profile.

There are no long-term commitments, no monthly subscriptions, and no hidden upsells.

Why do experts on The Boardroom charge different rates?

Every expert on this platform sets their session rate based on a structured calibration process.
We use an internal rubric that evaluates each expert’s business experience, level of visibility, and how rare it is to get one-on-one access to them. This ensures their pricing reflects the real value and impact of their expertise, not just how well-known they are or what they personally think they’re worth.

So when you see an expert’s rate, know that it’s not random. It’s intentional, fair, and grounded in a system that protects both your investment and their positioning.

You can trust that whether you’re booking someone at $595 or $2,595, that rate reflects their level of authority, demand, and access.

What is the cancellation or refund policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please do so at least 48 hours in advance.
Refunds are not guaranteed for no-shows or late cancellations. However, we understand that life happens. If an issue arises, contact our team and we’ll do our best to support you.

If you attend your session but feel you did not receive meaningful value, you may request a review. We take user satisfaction seriously and handle refund requests on a case-by-case basis.

What are the terms of use?

By booking a session through The Boardroom, you agree to:
• Show up on time, prepared, and ready to engage
• Respect your board member’s time and boundaries
• Use your session for strategic consultation—not pitch solicitation, personal grievances, or coaching circumvention
• Not record, republish, or reuse any portion of the call without explicit permission
• Understand that results depend on your implementation, not the session alone

We reserve the right to restrict access to the platform if these terms are violated.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

We get it—things come up.

Canceling Your Session?
You can cancel your session up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund. After that, cancellations are non-refundable. Use the cancellation link in your confirmation email at least 24 hours before your session start time.

Need to Reschedule?
Rescheduling is easy—just use the link in your confirmation email at least 24 hours before your session start time.

Reminder: Sessions start and end on time. Upload any prep materials in advance so your expert can show up ready to dive in.

Why Book a 1-on-1 Consultation?

Spinning your wheels gets old. Book a session with your next Board Member—someone who knows the business, speaks your language, and is ready to zero in on exactly what you need.

You’ll walk away with clear next steps, a smarter strategy, and the necessary gut-check to decide: “Is this the person who can help me dive even deeper? Or was this just the exact insight I needed to move forward on my own?”

Either way, you win. Because in this industry, there’s no shortage of talent. But finding the right match? That’s where the Boardroom for Creatives shines.

My revenue doubled the first year of working with Cheryl. My design fees are averaging $30,000 with an $85,000 minimum expenditure. Even after 22 years in business, she has taught this old dog a few new tricks. Cheryl opened my eyes to running a better business. She gives you the tools, what to say, how to think about it, and how to present your value. Believe me, it’s worth every penny.

—Diane Bianchini, Owner of Dream Interiors NY

Every offer we have closed since implementing the program has been because of the processes I learned. After clients signed, I asked why they chose us even though our prices were 18–28% higher. Their answers were, ‘That scope of work,’ ‘You were so detailed right from the discovery call,’ and ‘Your communication throughout the project was honest and transparent.’ The entire Design Paradigm program changed my business.

Sunita Ritesh, Founder and Principal Designer of House of MDC

I recently switched to Cheryl’s business model and really like it, as do my clients. They feel more comfortable knowing what to expect to spend on my design fees, versus getting random hourly invoices all the time, as well as having an idea of what they can expect to spend at a minimum to get the look and quality my business expects to provide.
I was in her year long coaching program, and it was absolutely 100% invaluable in teaching me how to sell this to a client so it’s a win-win for us both. In booking just one or two jobs, I have already paid my company back for the investment in the coaching through the design fees themselves. I cannot recommend it enough.
